Hi Guys!!!

Well seen as Golf is all around i thought i would create a post on the one and only Rory McIlroy. Well its been a busy past week for Rory after his High profile walk out was it just a childish strop or actual Wisdom tooth pain??

See Below:

Rory the defending champion withdrew after hitting his second shot into the water on the 18th - his ninth - and slumping to seven over par for the day, so he was having a bad day but who hasn't!!!

As he left, McIlroy told journalists he was not in a good frame of mind.

McIlroy now has 14 days to provide PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem with written evidence to support his claim that he was hampered by a troublesome wisdom tooth. Players are not allowed to walk out on tournaments unless they have suffered an injury, other disability or serious personal emergency. If one of these criteria is not satisfied the golfer would be liable to a fine or ban, but it is hard to envisage the Tour wanting to suspend McIlroy in this instance. (AS IF)

He later released a statement citing a painful wisdom tooth as the reason behind his withdrawal.

"I have been suffering with a sore wisdom tooth, which is due to come out in the near future," he said.

"It was very painful again this morning, and I was simply unable to concentrate. It was really bothering me and had begun to affect my playing partners.

"I came here with every intention of defending my Honda Classic title. Even though my results haven't revealed it, I really felt like I was turning a corner"

McIlroy changed club and ball suppliers at the start of 2013 in a lucrative deal but has struggled for form since, missing the cut in his first tournament of the year in Abu Dhabi and then losing his opening match at the WGC Match Play.

The Northern Irishman carded a level-par round of 70 at Palm Beach Gardens on Thursday, and asked afterwards about his new clubs had said: "It's hard to commit to the shot that you need to play every time.

"I felt like I hit the ball OK, not as good as I can, but it's getting there."

Lets hope this week he gets some better luck, this is how its going so far in the World Golf Championships:

Rory shot a one-over-par 73 in the World Golf Championships event at Doral his first round since his high-profile walk-off last week.

"It was a bit of a struggle to be honest," said McIlroy, who made six bogeys but eagled his 10th.

Playing partner Woods hit nine birdies for a share of the lead.

Sweden's Freddie Jacobson, Spain's Sergio Garcia, Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell and American Bubba Watson, the defending Masters champion, were also six under par after the first round.

It was the best opening round from Woods since the BMW Championship in September, but he felt it could have been even better.

The world's top three players - McIlroy, Woods and England's Luke Donald - were grouped together over the Miami course. WOW!!!

McIlroy, 23, was thankful for an eagle at the 10th but conceded he was still searching for something approaching his best form.

The Northern Irishman found just three of 14 fairways on the Blue Monster course.

"Hit some good shots, hit some not-so-good shots," he said. "As I've been saying all week, this is a work in progress and I'm working at it and I'm staying patient.

"I've got another three rounds here to try and work on it a bit more and shoot a few good scores and we'll see what happens."

Defending champion Justin Rose of England was one of six players two strokes back along with compatriot Ian Poulter after shooting a 68.

Stay tuned for more Golf news!!

Auckland in New Zealand is holding the first major event of 2013 and more than 1.5 million people gathered around Sydney harbour to watch the city's famous firework display.

Big shows are also planned in many other cities across the world, what are they doing where you are?? In York its all about the Minster they usually have some sort of firework display and the whole of York gather there at midnight (Least it feels like it)

Celebrations will also be held for the first time in Burma, where large public gatherings were banned by its previous military rulers.

How the Celebrations started:

In Auckland, the largest city closest to the International Date Line, fireworks exploded over the city's 328m (1,076ft) Sky Tower as midnight struck (11:00 GMT).

Two hours later, the huge crowds around the harbour in the Australian city of Sydney were treated to a typically extravagant fireworks display.

Seven tonnes of fireworks lit up the famous landmarks of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House to a soundtrack co-written by Australian singer Kylie Minogue.

The display is expected to pump $160m (£98.5m) into the local economy, the BBC's Phil Mercer in Sydney said.

Fireworks lit up the skyline in the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, while South Korea ushered in the new year with the traditional ringing 33 times of the 15th century Bosingak bell in the capital Seoul.

As many as 100,000 people were expected around Hong Kong's harbour for the city's biggest ever fireworks display, costing $1.6m (£980,000), the Associated Press reports.

Meanwhile, in Burma, tens of thousands were expected to attend the celebrations in the former capital Rangoon, which will feature a fireworks display and performances by the country's entertainers.

Reports say the festivities will be broadcast live on Burmese television.

The celebration is seen as the latest sign of the country's liberalisation under its military-backed civilian government.

The Burmese city of Rangoon is gearing up for its first new year's festivities

Hey Guys,

What a night the Sports Personality 2012 was!! Well done to Bradley Wiggins as he definitely deserved it!!

Here are the best bits:

Bradley Wiggins is named BBC Sports Personality of the Year,

Never again will we see the like. All 12 finalists could easily have won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards in any other year. Really, we didn't see how were you able to choose between them? It almost lifted the bad taste left by last year, when no women were nominated, and well and truly banished the memories of those years in the 90s when Damon Hill seemed to win it every time.

Amazingly in 2011, the total number of votes cast was 341,959; last night, Wiggins alone took nearly half a million and the total vote was more than 1.6m.

The winner, Bradley Wiggins, actually has a personality

It was always going to be Wiggins' night though, from his loose-cannon opening appearance which caused "Susan" Barker to look distinctly uneasy, to a reminder of his achievements this year and lets not forget the velour suit!!!!

Kate Middleton makes an entrance

Yes as always, she did look dazzling, expertly navigating a floor-skimming dress and high heels, channeling old-school Hollywood glamour and looking effortless but the big question is why didn't they let her speak? Very strange,

Then there was not a dry eye in the house when Martine Wright won the Helen Rollason award,

The sitting volleyball Paralympian Martine Wright collected her award from Denise Lewis and Liz Kenworthy, the off-duty police officer who saved her life on the day of the 7/7 bombings. In a pitch-perfect speech, Wright didn't focus on her own achievements, instead paying tribute to the 52 people who lost their lives that day. "This is the time to get together, we need to remember the summer but we need to build on this legacy and go ahead and inspire the nation."

What an evening again what a brilliant end to 2012 a great year for the British and a great year for Sport!!

Was it a given that Olympic and Paralympic athletes would dominate the shortlist for the 2012 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award? They did wow the nation with their sporting talents and made people believe in sports so YES they should be!!!!

Cyclists Bradley Wiggins and Sir Chris Hoy, tennis star Andy Murray, and athletes Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah are candidates in a 12-strong list.

Rower Katherine Grainger, golfer Rory McIlroy, boxer Nicola Adams and sailor Ben Ainslie are other hopefuls.

Paralympians Sarah Storey, Ellie Simmonds and David Weir also make the list for the award on 16 December.

Three former Sports Personality nominees were on an expert panel which decided the shortlist, and the winner will be decided by a public vote on the night. The panel was put together following criticism of an all-male list decided via a different method in 2011.

The 2000 winner Sir Steve Redgrave, Baroness Grey-Thompson and Denise Lewis were joined by Baroness Campbell, chair of UK Sport, and representatives from the BBC and the newspaper industry.

A capacity crowd of 15,000 at the ExCel in London will make it the biggest show in the event's 59-year history, once again showing that the nations pride in Sports is at an all time high!

With an array of candidates to choose from, the panel faced some difficult choices finalising the shortlist, which was extended from 10 to 12 to reflect a brilliant year for British sport.

Bradley Wiggins became the first Briton to win the Tour de France and followed up with Olympic time trial gold. Hoy won the team sprint and men's keirin at London 2012 - his fifth and sixth gold medals overall - to beat the record for golds won by a British sportsman.

Ennis won the heptathlon and Farah triumphed in both the 5,000m and 10,00m in the Olympic Stadium.

Murray clinched gold at the Games before ending Britain's wait for a major tennis title with victory in the US Open, and McIlroy also triumphed across the Atlantic as he took the US PGA title, played in Europe's winning Ryder Cup team and won the season-ending World Tour Championship.

Adams became the first female fighter to win an Olympic boxing title, Grainger claimed rowing gold at the fourth attempt and Ainslie's victory at the Games made him the most decorated Olympic sailor.

At the Paralympics, wheelchair racer Weir won four titles, teenage swimmer Simmonds triumphed twice and Storey rode to four cycling titles.

Its going to be such a hard decision!!!

2012 Sports Personality shortlist

Olympic gold medallists: 8

Paralympic gold medallists: 3

Other: 1

Men: 7 Women: 5

Age range: 18 to 36

Such was the strength in depth of potential contenders that those to miss out include Olympic gold medallists Charlotte Dujardin, Greg Rutherford, Victoria Pendleton, Laura Trott and Alistair Brownlee, along with Europe's Ryder Cup hero Ian Poulter.

The expert panel will also choose the first, second and third places for the Team of the Year, Overseas Personality of the Year and Coach of the Year awards.

Chair of the panel, BBC Director of Sport Barbara Slater, said: "If we ever needed reminding just how special a sporting year it has been, then the list of those sportspeople who did not make the final 12 is testament to that."

Other awards on the night will again be Young Sports Personality of the Year and Unsung Hero, which will continue to be decided by the existing specialist panel system - plus the Lifetime Achievement and Helen Rollason awards which will be decided by the board of BBC Sport.

Looks like it will be a great night one to tune in for!!!

Hi Guys,

Well as many of you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and some of the Bawtry retailers took it to the extreme!!! They came up with a crazy idea to launch 'Bra Bunting in Bawtry'

This was the idea of Emily Harbon and Sarah Craven, co-owners of Bawtry’s & She Knows shop, they asked women to donate their unwanted bras throughout October to back October’s Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. Check out our pictures below!!

The bunting is raised until Friday the 2nd of November, for all those ladies and gentlemen who want to pop down to have a browse, chat and see the pretty, empowering bunting!
